Dodge and Lake Plaza Project

In an effort to provide better pedestrian environments in West Evanston, the City identified an old right hand turn lane that is no longer necessary and will be developing a new pedestrian plaza in its place in 2012. The space is defined by a brick wall that also provides seating. The bricks are reclaimed from sidewalks in downtown Evanston and will be re-purposed. Alternating bands of concrete and porous concrete provide visual rhythm and also reduce the need for water detention on site. Construction begins July 2012.
