2424 Oakton Conceptual Design

An internal study for an underutilized parcel of land on the Southwest side of Evanston was commissioned. The Site included parts of James Park, the Evanston Animal Shelter, the City’s now abandoned Recycling Center, and a parcel of land that has not been able to develop due to environmental issues on the site. The Concepts show a range of intensity on the site. Anchored by an entertainment venue totaling 50,000 sq. ft. in size, the first concept integrates a new shopping center with various sizes of retail outlets. This includes a new Animal Shelter on the back part of the property and a redeveloped community garden complex complete with a new locker/shower facility.

Options 2 depicts if land consolidation is not feasible, what would the development potential that could still occur look like.
